MINTOX Poetry Open Mic
After an incredible inaugural event, Mintox Poetry Open Mic returns Friday November 22nd 6-9pm.
Welcome poets and spoken word speakers, leakers of truth and the otherwise fond of crafted thoughts uttered, muttered and orated. Put your name in the hat at the door upon entry to recite something if you wish. The space will be warm and welcoming for all to come and share.
This month’s feature poet is Vincent Stead. Vincent regularly performs at poetry events around the Northern Rivers and Southern Queensland, blending traditional and contemporary styles of poetry. He has won People’s Choice Award at the Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup [2016, 2019] and been a NSW Finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam [2016, 2022, 2023, 2024].
Doors at 6pm
Poetry and recitation commencing at 7pm

“In Unison” Duo Exhibition
Friday November 22nd heralds the opening night of ‘In Unison’, a dynamic duo show by Australian pop artist, Aaron Craig, and Thai pop artist, Fartboil.
Aaron’s work is recognisable by the recontextualised blend of pop culture that aim to give the viewer a strong sentiment of nostalgia. Forging together elements from cartoons and comics until they become familiar at first glance, but at a second look are completely unique, he aims to create a rich new visual world that is seamless but ultimately shouldn’t exist.
Fartboil is a Bangkok-based artist with an architectural background who evolved from designer to illustrator to tattoo enthusiast. His paintings are inspired by traditional tattoos, vintage cartoons and nature. He fearlessly experiments with colours and twists visuals into delightful distortions.
‘In Unison’ features a collection of both artists individual works and a collaborative work.
Supported by Burleigh Brewing.
