About Amber Kingi
Amber Kingi is a self-taught artist from the Gold Coast, Queensland, who relies on her intuition and experimentation to create works that draw from the everyday.

With added make-believe and whimsy, Amber’s created worlds of people, moments, imagined scenes and stories, come alive on canvas. Her imagined characters are caught in a time the viewer can relate to or dream of.

Building her art practice over the last four years, Amber has held five successful solo shows and taken part in numerous group shows around Australia. Amber continues to experiment with scale and new mediums and textures. Her creative process flows from sketch, to digitalised, to working with colour palettes, and finally giving texture to the canvas. For Amber, inspiration is all around her – beaches, parks, media, popular culture, magazines, fashion. Nothing is off-limits.
