Join us on Saturday 23rd September for Sam Haven’s debut solo show, ‘Distorted Reflections’. Sam has been Mint’s resident artist for the last 6 months with thanks to Level Up Studio Residency program and will be exhibiting works created during his stay.

An acclaimed musician, Sam is now exploring the medium of painting to articulate his inner world. Using oil on canvas, Sam explores the immersive and ever changing intersection between light and dark. His abstract works are his expression of his reflective search for meaning, the human condition and yearning for personal transcendence. He frequently traverses the subjects of frustration, despair and how the physical representations of these feelings manifest.


About Sam:

Sam Haven, is a multi disciplinary artist, based on Yugambeh land (Gold Coast). Half Iranian, his rich cultural roots provide opulence in inspiration, and a flood of multi-faceted subjects to draw from. Alongside his work within the fine arts, he also delves into a plethora of complimentary realms within the creative industries; sound, lighting, film, and directing.

The Level Up Studio Residency at Mint Art House program is a City of Gold Coast initiative to support emerging young artists on the Gold Coast.

Level Up residency @ Mint Art House Studio, Burleigh Heads

Residency for early career visual artists aged 18 to 30 years, embeds early career visual artists within the Mint Art House Collective at Burleigh Heads. This residency provides studio space to develop new work and connections to a community of artists that make up Mint Art House together with links to studio artists from the City’s GC Creative Space Program.
